New Conversations

These paintings represent an active area of exploration within my studio practice. While connected to earlier bodies of work through their use of atmosphere, gesture, and contrast, they move toward a more fractured and shifting visual language. Influenced in part by my growing collage practice, the paintings increasingly embrace interruption, layering, and the meeting of disparate forms and spaces.

I’m increasingly interested in tension — between structure and disruption, openness and density, restraint and spontaneity. Fragments of form appear and dissolve. Space compresses and expands. Through layered gesture, interruption, and atmosphere, the paintings construct emotional fields that invite contemplation rather than resolution.

Rather than forming a fixed series, these works document an evolving conversation in the studio — one that continues to unfold through experimentation, intuition, and the layering of memory, gesture, and material.
